Wired not Weird Book Launch

Whitsunday Sailing Club ~ Airlie Beach, Queensland

~ Sunday 27 July 2025

On Sunday 27 July 2025, I celebrated the Wired not Weird book launch at the Whitsunday Sailing Club, a place that had become very special to me during the two years I lived in the Whitsundays and raced keel yachts as a club member.

Around 40–45 guests from the local community joined me for the afternoon, along with some wonderful surprises. My best friends from Perth and Adelaide flew in especially for the event, while my dear friend from Bowen helped me at the main book-signing table. Our beautiful Commodore, Heather, was MC for the day, and my guest speaker, Anna, shared her own thoughts after reading Wired not Weird. Friends from the Sailing Club also worked quietly behind the scenes to help make the day so memorable.

The launch was held in the Club’s main training and meeting room, overlooking the beautiful waters of the Whitsundays. I spoke about my background, the journey behind the book and what Wired not Weird is really about, and shared some of the stories and readings contained within its pages.

One of the highlights was an extraordinary cake made by a local bakery to resemble the book itself. Both Wired not Weird and Caught Between Two Worlds were available on the day, and I was able to personally sign copies and write special messages for those who purchased them.

For me, it was a monumental and deeply memorable day — and a beautiful way to mark the end of my two years in the Airlie Beach and Whitsunday region before leaving just two weeks later.

Wow! How exciting it was to launch my second book!

Thank you to everyone who made the time to attend my book launch at the Whitsunday Sailing Club.,
